Temporary License

NEBRASKA IS A MANDATORY STATE

§76-2233.01 Nonresident; temporary license, or certificate; issuance; when. A nonresident may obtain a temporary license as a licensed real property appraiser, obtain a temporary certificate as a certified residential real property appraiser or as a certified general real property appraiser to perform a contract relating to the appraisal of real estate or real property in this state. A temporary license or certificate issued under this section shall be expressly limited to a grant of authority to perform the appraisal work required by the contract for appraisal services in this state. Each temporary license or certificate shall expire upon the completion of the appraisal work required by the contract for appraisal services or upon the expiration of a period of six months from the date of issuance, whichever occurs first. A temporary license or certificate may not be renewed. Application for an extension has been granted for legal considerations.                      

1. Complete the information requested on the “Application For Temporary Permit”. Complete the application form APPLICATION (PDF 126k).
Upon completion, obtain notarization.

2. Attach check or money order payable to Nebraska Real Property Appraiser Board for total fees due.

3. Attach a recent passport type photo of applicant.

4. Attach current documentation of good standing (license history) issued by resident state regulatory body. This office will download a history from the Federal Registry.             

5. Attach a copy of the letter of engagement or contract indicating location of assignment and completion dates.

6. Nebraska is a mandatory state. Do not enter the state without first obtaining a temporary permit.
